Global Glide and Classic Lane new winners!

Pro Equine USA  has performed yearling evaluations for many years now, mainly for Jimmy W Takter. In recent years, we have added Brittany Farm and Marvin Katz/Al Libfeld  as our valued clients. Even if the art of yearling evaluations is not an exact science, by any means, we have been lucky to recommend some youngsters to our clients, that has developed into prominent stars. Some has been expensive yearlings, some has been real bargains. This weekend, two former bargains showed their best side again. Global Glide was a $6000 yearling and has been standing stud in Sweden for the past two years, after a genuine US career, but has returned to racing this year. Global Glide travelled to the very north of Sweden yesterday and won impressively Norrbottens Stora Pris, which included  the Elitlopp contenders Scarlet Aino and Sundons Gift, among others. Global Glide has now earned $616 000, and it looks like he can add a substantial amount to that number, if he stays healthy.

Classic Lane was a $15 000 yearling purchase by Bud Hatfield and raced for him as a 2 and 3 year old. She was a very nice 3 year old and has now returned to winning form, for the new owners, The Tuckers of New Jersey . Yesterday, she won the Classic final at Mohawk Raceway and raised her lifetime earnings to  $495 945.

In other news, baby races are on the way and we look forward to find out what last years purchases will do.

Back from Sweden!

Just back from a great trip to Sweden. Visited top trainers Ake Svanstedt(who won the Elitlopp) and Roger Walmann. Both Trainers had some very nice two yearolds, among them where some from the first crop of Ken Warkentin. I saw two of them training and they looked awesome! Just like in the States and  Canada, the reports in Europe are great, when it comes to the first crop of Ken Warkentin.

Also went to Broline International stud farm and saw more of Ken Warkentin's offspring along with some of the first foals of Quite Easy (Andover Hall-Marita's Victory. Ken Warkentin and Quite Easy are both very popular. Broline's latest acquisition, Celebrity Secret looked great and is in  demand by the European breeders as well. A long legged son of Yankee Glide, that beat Deweycheatumnhowe, should be very attractive during the upcoming years.

The Elitlopp itself, is am amazing experience and this year most things went the Swede's way. The weather was awesome, the arrangements was praised by all and the Swedish horses dominated. My favorite, Buck I St Pat, made an unfortunate break before the start and never got a chance..

If you ever get a chance to visit Stockholm, the last Sunday in May, this is a part of what you will experience...

Ken Warkentin's full brother sold!

Dean Hoffman is a 3-yearold full brother to Ken Warkentin. He has shown a lot of ability, but have not lived up to the expectations yet. Pro Equine USA have now sold Dean Hoffman to Norwegian interests and he will shortly leave for Norway. Hopefully, he will perform up to his ability, with some time and a different environment. Dean Hoffman will be trained by Norway's leading trainer, Trond Anderssen.

Top horse sold!

Pro Equine USA Inc. have sold 50% of the 3 year old colt Quite Easy (Andover Hall-Marita's Victory-Valley Victory), to Swedish interests. Quite Easy is probably the best bred colt out there and of course a tremendously interesting stallion prospect. Being out of the top mare Marita's Victory, who is a full sister to the fantastic Passionate Glide, Quite Easy is the best bred colt by the sensational Andover Hall. The colt have qualified in an impressive manner early this season, and seems to have wintered well. In his last qualifier he finished second to top colt Donato Hanover, but John Campbell was unable to turn him loose, since he was hitting the race bike. In the qualifier before, Quite Easy won handily in 1:54.4.

Donato Hanover looks like the colt to beat this season too, but Quite Easy hope for a great season as well.

Spring update!

Springtime is here and the Grand Circuit season is on its way. Takter Stable seem to have a nice group of three year olds lined up. A couple of pacers have already won in a nice manner and a number  impressive  trotters have qualified. Among the most impressive qualifiers this year, belongs to Quite Easy. The colt by Andover Hall out of Marita's Victory won his qualifier in 1.54.4 with a lot to spare. His dam is a full sister to Passionate Glide. On track is also last years super star Pampered Princess, who has qualified in a solid way. Solveigs brother Rune and Blurs brother Don't Blink Twice, looks great as well. The filly Those Blue Eyes, was impressive in her seasonal debut, parked the whole way and still managed to stay in for second.

Among Takter Stable's two year olds, we can report that the Kadabra's still is training strong, they have a number of Yankee Glide's ,Andover Hall's, Muscle Yankee's, Angus Hall's and Credit Winner's, that are doing well. In addition a very strong group of pacers and a colt by Like A Prayer, a filly by SJ's Caviar, a filly by Striking Sahbra, a colt by Lindy Lane and a filly by Donerail, are among the promising ones. On top of that, Takter is training the full sister to World Champion Going Kronos and she is very impressive. Lantern Kronos is staked from late summer and on.

In other news, we are happy to report that a number of stallions that was selected by Pro Equine USA as yearlings, has started out in a popular manner. Chipmate is very popular in Denmark, after a great start with his first crop. Stand Strong is booking well in Norway, Capetown Hall is doing good in Finland and Victory Abroad is producing winners in Sweden. New stallions in Sweden are Global Glide and Muscles Memory, both got great reviews and are booking very strong. In North America  and Europe, the reports are very strong about Ken Warkentin's first crop, which now is on it's way. Great withers ,a slanted rear end, long legs and a beautiful head are some of the words that describe most of them. Ken Warkentin is booking really well again, and is on track to breed around 200 mares again this year, in North America and Europe. If you are interested in booking him, you should act now!

March update!

Keeping an eye on the powerful stable of Jimmy Takter, during their winter training in New Jersey. This year , it seems to be a wide variety of two year olds, that are impressive. One of the most interesting youngsters is the big powerful son of Andover Hall and out of Jimmy's winner of The Hambletonian Oaks, Southwind Allaire. As always, Jimmy have several colts and fillies by Yankee Glide that looks very interesting. Four Kadabra's have trained really well during the winter and hopefully, they will perform on the track as well. Jimmy have one very interesting colt by Like A Prayer, a few nice Angus Halls and a group of Muscle Yankee offsprings that should be interesting. To round out the trotters, there is a full sister to world champion Going Kronos and a Self Possessed daughter of the great Moni Maker...

On the pacingside ,there is a group of fillies and colts, that should make an inpact ,as well.

The three year olds are coming back strong and Pampered Princess and Quiet Easy looks very, very sharp!

In other news, the reports about new Ken Warkentin foals keep coming in. I have seen pictures of a few and they looked awesome. Book now!

February 13 2007

February update!

Went to South Florida to take a peek at the winter training. Of course there where  many interesting youngsters, this time of year. There has been many good reports about the first crop of Kadabra. Several trainers have reported that they like the Kadabra's gait, power and soundness. Have heard this from Italy, Sweden, Canada, New Jersey and Florida. Luckily , Pro Equine USA owns a yearling colt out of a great family...In other news, the first foals by Ken Warkentin starts to show up and the reports are very good. I am interested to here from owners of foals by him, during this spring. As an outstanding son of Yankee Glide, we are looking forward to see what he will do. It is now time to book your mare to Ken Warkentin, remember his book was full and closed early last year!

Limbo Glide sold for $160 000!

Mondays mixed sale brought a nice crowd to the Meadowlands. As usual, quality horses where in demand and prices reflected the optimistic market. Brood mares, young stock, stallion shares and racehorses all sold well. Takter Stable sold Limbo Glide, the 4 year old Yankee Glide son who last year won the Old Oaken Bucket in an impressive manner. The sellers where Misty Trotting of Sweden and Christina Takter ,who are concentrating on 2 and 3 year olds. As a top prospect for the free for all class at Yonkers and other tracks, Limbo Glide brought $160 000. With his looks, pedigree and past performances, he should also be interesting as a stallion prospect, when his racing days are over.

Peter Forsberg visits Jimmy W Takter Stable!

Philadelphia Flyers Captain Peter Forsberg and his father Kent have a genuine interest in harness racing. They currently own several horses in Sweden and have had a couple of really good ones. Their newest acquisition is World champion Adrian Chip, by Andover Hall. Many athletes has been involved in harness racing , like Europe's first NHL player Ulf Sterner (New York Ranger), Mats Naslund (Montreal Canadiens), Mats Sundin (Toronto Maple Leafs) and many more.

Back from the sales!

Harness racing in the US, is more powerful than ever. Just back from 3 months of examining yearlings , on behalf of top trainer Jimmy W Takter and the very successful Brittany Farms.

Prices on yearlings are sky rocketing ,people want to be a part of a business with high earning potential and a bright future. Slots seems to have fueled the interest as we hoped and there is a fair chance for owners to get some economy in their horse business. This reflects on the breeders ,as well. They sell yearlings at good prices and reinvest in brood mares and stallions. This gives owners a chance to sell their stock, once they are done racing and reinvest in new yearlings. It is a necessary merry-go-round.

Our #1 customer, for 9 years now, Jimmy W Takter is having his best year ever on the track, which reflects on his and his owners investments at the sales this year. 37 yearlings  was bought for an estimated $ 3 000 000. Amazingly the Takter barn has been showing profits for many years now, counting investments, costs for training and staking. The funds earned by the Takter barn ,together with the value of the horses has been in excess of costs for many years now. No wonder, that owners stand in line to be a part of Takter Stable.

We hope for a successful 2007, as well!

Time to look at yearlings!

It is the time of year, when the yearling sales are held. The first one is being held today at The New Jersey Horse Park. Since Pro Equine USA offers the service of examining yearlings for customers, it is really busy times right now. I will attend today's sale and then continue my tour of all the large consignors/farms ,to be prepared for the upcoming sales in Lexington and Harrisburg. I can be reached on my cell phone 1-609-481-5801, or via e-mail : info@proequineusa.com . It is also the time of year to contact me, if you have an interest in buying a stallion, broodmare , racehorse or a green two year old. Most owners prefer to sell at this time and reinvest in yearlings.

Pro Equine sold filly!

Just before The Hambletonian ,Pro Equine USA Inc. sold the filly Nahimana to Swedish interests. Nahimana is a 2-year old filly by Andover Hall who is having a great start to his breeding career . The filly has a great pedigree and the new owner is to be congratulated since the dam is a Super Bowl sister to the dam of Glidemaster!

The Meadowlands closes with great racing!

Harness racing at the Meadowlands 2006 was great .Yankee Glide was victorious in both The Hambletonian and The Hambletonian Oaks. Glidemaster was impressive and won fair and square. Passionate Glide was not 100% but won a well deserved victory in the Oaks, a class act as she is, she only used a portion of her great ability and still won. Many congratulations to Brittany Farms and George Segal, who own both. Well deserved credit to the trainers, Blair Burgess and Jimmy W Takter for a fabulous job with these two horses. It was also great to see Chocolatier, as the great horse he is, finishing second in the Hambo.  Donato Hanover by Andover Hall was all by himself when he won the Peter Haughton Memorial. Credit to Jim Oscarsson of Sweden who came over from Sweden and finished second in the Merrie Annabel with his Self Possessed-filly Ironmaid Volo.

Busy Times!

Harness racing in the US, is on a roll right now. Fantastic three year olds and promising two year olds are coming from everywhere. Among horses that are extra interesting, we see a number of nice two year olds  by Andover Hall. It seems like we have a new top stallion on our hands. Both colts and fillies seem to show up and a high demand for his offspring is expected at the upcoming yearling sales. Donato Hanover(D Train) looks like a potential Peter Haughton winner. Pampered Princess(Bold Dreamer) was awesome in her only start. Top two year old right now, is Possess The Magic (Self Possessed) , trained by new Hall of Famer Ron Gurfein. She is in a class by her self right now and looks exceptional .The three year olds are  also headed by a filly. Passionate Glide (Yankee Glide) haven't lost yet this year and is the heavy favorite to The Hambletonian Oaks. The three year old colts are strong this year, but the Hambletonian is somewhat open right now. Chocolatier (Credit Winner)  has showed more speed than anyone, but seems to be plagued by soreness . Trond Smedshammer has three top colts: Mr Pine Chip (SJ's Caviar), Here Comes Herbie(Credit Winner) and Blue McLad( Muscles Yankee). Jimmy Takters two colts Capetown Hall  (Garland Lobell) and Global Glide( Yankee Glide) are getting sharper every week. Also the high speed horse Glidemaster(Yankee Glide) deserves attention, and could step up in time for the Hambo. Good Luck to everybody!

Scarlet Knights brother to Pro Equine!

Pro Equine just bought the 4-yearold brother to the Hambletonian-winner Scarlet Night. By Muscles Yankee, Red Williams has not lived up to the high expectations that the previous owner has had on him, only showed signs of high speed. Red Williams is a big, dark, good looking stallion, with  a great attitude. We decided to take a chance on him and hopefully he comes around with time. Should be the right type of horse for Europe, if things work out.

Pro Equine sells winners!

During the last two decades, we have sold many horses that have gone on to be successful, either on the racetrack or in the breeding shed. This week, there have been four winners so far. They are: Bal Harbor (Pine Chip) and Giant Park (Muscles Yankee) in Norway, Cassoulet (Yankee Glide) and Simb From Abroad (Victory Abroad) in Sweden. We congratulate the owners and wish them continued good luck! Also sold by Pro Equine ,is the FFA trotter Stand Strong( Muscles Yankee), that qualified in a nice way yesterday. Stand Strong has showed top potential earlier and we hope that Ake Svanstedt have been able to improve him just a touch more and he should do very well in the European elite.

23 June  2006

Passionate Glide awesome!

Last night at the Meadowlands, Jimmy Takters star , Passionate Glide, showed her class by winning the New Jersey Sirestakes-final, in a blistering 1:52.4, a new stakes record. Passionate Glide looked like she was on cruise control, when she crossed the wire, 5 and half lengths ahead of Queen Serene and Simple Task. In other news, Takters large barn of youngsters, has started to move in a big way. There has been a number of nice performers at the babyraces. A couple of colts that looks great right now is: Photomaxx (SJ's Photo), Peyton Way (Conway Hall), Heaven Broline (Victory Abroad) and Quiet Easy (Andover Hall).

Kentuckiana Farms report that Pro Equine USA's two broodmares Nahimana and Bravura Hanover, both are in foal to Ken Warkentin. Ken Warkentins book was closed at 150 mares, but due to high fertility, the book was reopened late and the total numbers of mares bred, should be over 200 (The US, Canada and Europe), by now.

11 June 2006

Busy Week!

The harness season is heating up. Lots of travel , to keep an eye on all the debuting stakes prospects. Last years top two year old filly, Passionate Glide, made her comeback an impressive win. Last night, Chocolatier made his comeback but made a break, and did not look his best. Impressive winner was Algiers Hall ,while the other elimination winner Kelso inherited the win, when Majestic Son made a break at the wire. Pro Equine USA Inc. currently have several top colts for sale, that has made impressive comebacks already. Contact us today!

The baby races at the Meadowlands are always interesting to watch. This year Andover Hall has his first crop on the track, and so far, they have not been disappointing. Several colts have made impressive debuts, and the most impressive one so far, is Donato Hanover, out of D Train. Another colt that seems to have the right potential is Around And Over, out of Ashleys Carousel. Ray Schnittker also have a good one in  Commander Tad, out of Yankee Mischief.

Next week will be a step up in the number of babyraces contested, when many of the top trainers will start to babyrace. They are held two times at the Meadowlands and also at Gaitway farm.

Victory A Simple Task In NJSS
May 31 Simple Task popped out of the pocket in the stretch and drew off to win the $23,100 first of four New Jersey Sire Stakes divisions for three-year-old filly trotters tonight at the Meadowlands.

Driven and trained by Jimmy Takter, Simple Task bested Queen Serene (Dream Vacation) by a length and three-quarters in 1:55.4. It was four lengths back to Klipspringer (Banker Hall) in third.

A daughter of Yankee Glide-Simply Hanover, Simple Task is owned by Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky. Unraced last year at two Simple Task is now two for two this year.

The other divisions were captured by Penny Dream (Dream Vacation) for Mike Lachance in 1:56.3, Emantee (Banker Hall) and Trond Smedshammer) in 1:57.1 and Wherley (Dream Vacation) and John Campbell in 1:57.3.

Solveig wins again!

Jimmy W Takter's top mare Solveig won today an Open event at The Poconos. She got a nice trip and responded well when Jimmy pulled her. The mare won easy in 1:54.4f . This was the fifth win of the year for Solveig, who seem to enjoy the life as an aged performer. In addition, her fullbrother Rune was at the Meadowlands last week along with 18 other two year olds in the Takter barn. Rune is one of the most promising colts in the barn.

26 May 2006

Stars are qualifying!

A strong group of trotters qualified yesterday at the Meadowlands. The track was not in the best of shape, again. Fortunately , we hear good things about the track on race days. Among the high quality trotters that raced yesterday was last years standout filly Passionate Glide, who cruised to victory for her trainer Jimmy W Takter in 1:58. Takter also qualified Flamingo Bingo with a 9 length win, in 1:58.1. The top colt Global Glide looked great for Takter, but was run over in the first turn...Another top colt out of the same barn is Capetown Hall, who is pointed to The Hambletonian and, according to plans ,was driven conservatively by Jimmy W Takter. Takter Stable also qualified Limbo Glide, Trampledunderfoot and the pacing filly West Side Glory, in a nice manner. Other notable qualifiers today was Strong Yankee, Here Comes Herbie, Queen Serene, Race Fan, Eilean Donon, Make You Mine and Ronnie Gurfein's Miss Wisconsin, who finished second to Flamingo Bingo. Last years top colt Chocolatier qualified today in an improved way, the time was 1:59.1. The 2006 season is ready to begin!

On the international side, Swedens famous Elitlopp is coming up this weekend. Several American horses has been invited, but no one has excepted, for various reasons. Canada is represented by Snazzy Millie and Rick Zeron. Justice Hall raced well in his first overseas start in Finland, but was never in contention in his Norvegian start. He was therefore not invite to the Elitlopp, but will race the day before( Saturday) in the Sweden Cup-race. All races can be viewed minutes after they are contested ,on the swedish site www.atg.se. Good Luck to everyone!

Two year olds in training!

Takter Stable normally shows up with a strong group of young horses each year, and I am happy to report that this years group of two year olds looks amazing, at this point. A lot can change with a young horse, but it is important that they have shown gait ,speed, attitude, strength and the right attitude by now. Among the two year olds in this years group are 7 from the first crop of Andover Hall. There is colts out of Blue Ridge Girl (Blur), Marita's Victory , Thrill Hill and Lady Ironsides. Fillies out of Victory My Way, Bold Dreamer and Armbro Fern. These horses have definitively shown a lot of talent and we hope that they will be an asset to the barn during this upcoming season. There are two promising colts by the the full brother to Continentalvictory , Victory Abroad who stands in Sweden where he has a real star in his first crop, the filly Useful Hornline. One colt is out of Minx Hanover( Syrinx Hanover) and the other one is out of Maggie Bloom( Spoon Hornline in Sweden, the family of Delmonica Hanover). Both colts have shown speed and the right attitude and should race well here in the US. Other possible top performers definitively  include the full brother to Solveig( Yankee Glide), the full brother to Ken Warkentin( Yankee Glide), a colt by Conway Hall( brother to Boom), two fillies by Conway Hall (one is a sister to Dream Vacation , one is out of Mars Bar) , a filly by Muscles Yankee (out of  a sister to Striking Sahbra), a colt by SJ's Photo (out of the family of Bonefish), two by SJ's Caviar( a brother to Twin B Senorita and a filly out of the family of Rafaello Ambrosio). In addition there is a great group by Yankee Glide, a colt out of Charisse Hanover, a filly out of Emelie Cas El and another filly out of Pining For You. During the last couple of years , Jimmy W Takter has trained a few pacers with great results and the group of two year olds this year, looks like a solid group of promising horses. We will update this website during the season, so please stop by again!

17 May 2006

The action is heating up!

Stakes season is here! Takter Stable is really on the move and a few horses have already started their season. On Sunday May 15th, a great bred filly made her racing debut. The three year old filly Simple Task is a full sister to the top filly Silver Springs and is also the sister to two winners of the Norwegian Kriterium. Simple Task won her debut in 1:56.1 in a strong manor and sure looks like a contender this year. Last year was ruined by severe allergies and we sure hope that she stays healthy this year. Another interesting horse is Muscle Memory who finished third in last years Hambletonian, as well as in the World Trotting Derby. He has now qualified in 1:55.0 and is ready to race. He would have to grow into the free for all competition and should be ready for great things, a few months from now. Muscle Memory is a very good looking son of Muscles Yankee and will be an addition to the US breeding scene, when his racing career is over. That will hopefully be a few years from now. Muscle Memory is a horse that would suite the European circuit, so that might be an option for him as well. Takter Stable is currently qualifying most of their three year olds, so they should be ready for their upcoming stakes. Last years top horses Passionate Glide, Flamingo Bingo, Global Glide and Capetown Hall are coming back great, but are being matched  towards the biggest races of the year. The three year old pacer colt Mr Feelgood won his qualifier in 1:52.2 and defeated several of last years top colts. Among pacing fillies, Takter Stable have the fast filly Arts Temptress who looks like a contender this year.

Derby report!

Back from the greatest horserace in the world, The Kentucky Derby. As a first time visitor, it is impressive to watch the arrangement ,peoples expectations, the high class of horses and the record crowd of 157 000! In the harnessracing industry, we have a long way to go. Great races I have visited, like The Little Brown Jug, The Hambletonian, The Elitlopp and The Prix D'Amerique are the closest that we come to Kentucky Derby, but they are not the same. I strongly recommend to take the trip to Louisville, Kentucky , if there is ever a chance. This years Derby winner Barbaro was an impressive winner and is still undefeated.

2 May 2006

We have buyers!

We are currently looking for a top three year old trotter, with a proven race record and a chance to reach the top in 2006. We also have customers on a very talented trotting two year old. As always, there is a great demand for trotters , from our European customers ,as well. This week is Kentucky Derby-weekend and I will be attending, so my next update will be next week.

26 April 2006

Solveig keeps winning!

The top trotting mare Solveig, won again last night. This time at The Poconos, Solveig cruised to victory by 3 lengths. The time of the mile was an impressive 1:55.0  on a 5/8's track! Solveig was a standout two year old and has proven that she can withstand the pressure and develop as an aged horse. Solveig has several older brothers that have performed well, but she also have a two year old brother called Rune, that shows great promise and could be one of this years top performers.

25 April 2006

Foaling news!

Kentuckiana Farms reports that Bravura Hanover has foaled a very nice colt by Kadabra. Long legs, light bones and a nice head. Bravura Hanover is a stakes winning sister to World Champion Imperfection $932,331. The maternal family is the same as: Rosemary $223,647, Royal Prestige $ 1,234,279, Almost An Angel $959,695, Lovelytobehold $443,928, Fluttering Wings $303,571, Count The Goal $521,007, Mr Commissioner (Norway) and the top mare Stroke Play( Yankee Glide) $ 1,171,649.Bravura Hanover is being bred to Ken Warkentin( Yankee Glide) this year, to create the same cross as in Stroke Play. Bravura Hanover and the colt is owned by Pro Equine USA Inc. We also own the filly Nahimana, who is a 2-year old, that was bought to be bred to Ken Warkentin, as well. Nahimana is a late foal and a big good looking filly. Basically, she was too immature to race as a two year old. Her pedigree is extremely interesting, since she is a daughter of the hot Andover Hall and out of a sister to the dam of last years sensation Glidemaster( Yankee Glide). The cross to Ken Warkentin will hopefully create a foal with  the same extreme capacity.

17 April 2006

Springtime is here!

Spring is here and it is a great time for harness racing. Soon , all the three year old Grand Circuit prospects will start to qualify and the two year olds are not far behind. That's why the requests for all sorts of horses are great, at this time. We have requests for 2 and 3 year old trotters, from green prospects to top performers. We also have buyers for racehorses, in the US and in Europe. Broodmares or broodmare prospects are widely sought after, all categories of interests.

Tom Ridge foals look great!

Reports keep coming in on foals from the first crop of Tom Ridge. Most foals seem to have inherit Tom Ridge's sleek, streamlined conformation. Nice size and a light classy frame, are words that describe a lot of them. Tom Ridge is the worlds fastest standardbred, ever , and there are high hopes in the industry that his foals will inherit his fathers extreme speed, as well. On Saturday April 8, we went to Blue Chip Farms, N.Y. to take a look at a newborn colt out of the mare Super Shann. The brother to Housethatruthbuilt and Master Lavec, looked great  already, despite being just 10 hours old. Congratulations to the owner Celebrity Farms of Goshen, New York.

3 April 2006

Solveig wins in 1:54.4f !

The 2004 Two Year Old Trotting Filly of The Year Solveig , is really coming back strong , as a four year old. On Wednesday, she won again at Dover Downs in 1:54.4f. Solveig, who battled sickness at three won the open class and seems to rack up another impressive strike of fine performances. Solveig is one of the most interesting broodmare prospects in North America, but right now, it sure looks like she will continue on the track. We will look forward to seeing her first offspring in the sales ring, when ever it may be.

Takter is doing it thoroughbred style !

Jimmy Takter is training his first thoroughbred, this year. It is a two year old colt by Ascot Night, that Jimmy bought as a yearling, last fall. The colt's name is It's Like this, and today ,he was breezed for the second time. The colt looked terrific and very strong. Even though, this is Takter's first thoroughbred and it should be seen as a test, don't be surprised if It's Like This shows up to compete well this summer. Takter's  horsemanship is well known and should translate well into the world of thoroughbreds.

Ken Warkentin's book full and closed!

Kentuckiana Farms reports that their new exciting stallion Ken Warkentin's book is full and closed. The tremendous interest that breeders have shown for Ken Warkentin, comes as no surprise. His father Yankee Glide has had great success and Ken Warkentin is very much alike him. There is even a few things that could be an extra spice in Ken's favor, when comparing them. Ken had extreme speed, strength and a determination to win, like no other horse. Some people think that he was the best twoyearold ever...His pedigree shows Valley Victory on the maternal and paternal side, his mentality shows a positive attitude at all times and he will add class to any broodmare's offspring.
